Dr. Karim Wafa completed a PhD in Pharmacology, attended medical school and completed his residency training in anesthesiology at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He subsequently subspecialized in Pain Medicine completing a multi-year accredited training program with the Department of Anesthesia at McMaster University.
Dr. Wafa has expertise in image guided procedures for back, neck, shoulder, hip, knees, and abdominal plane blocks. Additionally, he performs pulsed radiofrequency of both peripheral nerves and nerve roots, botulinum injections for headaches and regenerative medicine procedures using platelet-rich protein (PRP) injections and prolotherapy.
Dr. Wafa is passionate about working collaboratively with patients and other health care providers to manage pain using a multimodal approach. He understands that chronic pain can impact all aspects of one’s life and looks forward to helping patients achieve relief to be able to go back to doing the things that they enjoy the most.
